The Salidarnasts, Belarus’ national weekly that stopped coming out on December 23 after state-run retail and delivery services refused to renew distribution contracts for 2006, updated its web site on February 8 after a six-week break.Editor-in-chief Aleksandr Starikevich told BelaPAN that the web site would be updated every day instantly on the appearance of new stories.
Unlike most other Belarusian news sites that carry a lot of various materials, the Salidarnasts will be compact, featuring exclusive stories prepared by its editorial staff, Mr. Starikevich said. He added that the web site operates in a test mode at present.
